Stagestruck is an independent events and experiential communications agency. 34 years ago, the company began as an AV supplier, man-handling vast numbers of fragile 35mm slides across banks of projectors to create stunning visual displays. Being a technical production manager at Stagestruck means working with some of the world’s top companies to create world-class experiences. It’s a key role, and as such requires a level of experience and ability to thrive under the pressure to deliver great experiences. This means bringing a combination of technical knowledge, project management, detailed planning, and creativity to any challenge, working closely with clients and colleagues to deliver to the highest standards of production across all elements of a project.

The Technical Project Manager has ownership of, and responsibility for the production implementation of a project. The role requires a strong level of technical knowledge across all event production disciplines including lighting, audio, video, rigging and scenic construction combined with exceptional project management and planning skills.

From involvement in the initial pitch process through to onsite delivery and post project reconciliation, working with in-house departments, suppliers, venues and clients the role takes complete responsibility for the production delivery including the production budget, trucking, crewing, technical system design/specifications, scheduling and health and safety.

  • Manage individual projects across a diverse range of business sectors from initial pitch through to on-site delivery and post project review.
  • Work with the Creative Department and Project Producer to produce pitch and proposal documents.
  • Push the boundaries regarding the creative interpretation of a client’ brief with the aim of exceeding their expectations.
  • Keep up to date with emerging technologies and new scenic construction techniques.
  • To attend site visits and client meetings.
  • To become a trusted advisor, supporting the Producer / Account Manager in all matters related to the technical delivery, scenic construction and logistics involved in the project.
  • To manage project production budgets and to maximise profit for the company, without compromising Stagestruck event production values.
  • Liaise between Production, Operations, Creative, Set and Technical Departments to ensure that all aspects of a project are successfully integrated and executed. Provide the communications link for all individuals and suppliers involved on a project ensuring consistency.
  • Ensure technical implementation and ‘set & environment’ build excellence on every project.
  • Assist the Account Director in managing existing accounts to a high standard and developing long-term client relationships.
  • To manage and contract suppliers in line with Stagestruck policies.
  • To work to ISO 9001, 14001 and 20121 standards.
  • To ensure high safety standards are maintained for all individuals involved with the project including Stagestruck personnel, clients, venue staff and members of the public. This will involve producing Risk Assessments and Method Statements specific to the tasks involved within the project.

Although this role does require a primary presence in the Stagestruck head office in Hertfordshire, with a secondary office in Central London this role offers some allowance for a flexible working environment.

As a key member of the onsite project delivery team the role will also require periods of time onsite, attending meetings at client offices, completing site visits and possible worldwide travel.
